    Participant Rules & Guidelines

    1. LINE-UP - All participants must be in place by 6:00pm. Parade line-up location will be announced via our Facebook & Remind as soon as the city notifies us.

    2. PARADE END - The parade ends at the Nazarene Church Parking lot on the corner of Central Ave. & 22nd St. NO ONE is allowed to leave the parade route before we arrive at the parking lot. All participants will have to be signed-out by a parent with one of our Aspire representatives.

    3. DRESS CODES:
    EVERYONE - Dress really warm! Coats, Hats, Gloves/Mittens
    INCLUSIVE ARTS PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS - These participants will ride on the float and need to have an elf hat.
    ALL OTHER STUDENTS - Students must wear a handmade cardboard costume representing a gift, a star, or a Christmas Light Bulb. All students will be walking the route.
    PARENTS/VOLUNTEERS - We need parents/volunteers to walk alongside our students, and they are asked to wear an elf hat or reindeer antlers.

    4. DISTRIBUTING ITEMS - Aspire will have promotional items for Parent/volunteers to distribute to parents in the crowd. Candy is allowed but must be given out by an adult, not a child. NO ITEMS CAN BE THROWN DURING THE PARADE. You must place all items in the hand of the recipient. Anyone wanting to pass candy needs to bring candy with them.

    5. RELEASE OF LIABILITY:
    My child/children has/have my permission to participate in the City of Ashland Christmas parade and to ride on the float entered by Aspire Conservatory of Fine & Performing Arts, Inc. (Aspire) in the parade.
    Aspire is not a legal entity of First Baptist Church Ashland (FBCA) and no claims shall be levied against the church for any reason. FBCA, Aspire , their officers, directors, employees and agents, shall have no liability for any personal injury or property damage which might occur to my child during the parade, whether resulting from other persons, vehicles, objects, weather or activities, whether any risks are natural or man-made, whether known, unknown or unanticipated.
    Further, on behalf of my child named herein, as well as his/her heirs, assigns, personal representatives and next of kin, I hereby release and hold harmless FBCA and Aspire, their officers, directors, employees and agents, with respect to any and all injury, disability, death or property damage which might result to my child as a result of participation in the parade, regardless of the cause of said injury, disability, death or property damage.
